Welcome Home in Corpus Christi, TX
Hey ya'll we finally made it...what a journey it was. Things got off to kind of a bumpy start, but our trip went well and we made it here safe and sound. With only one trip to the emergency room and 7 nights in hotels, we successfully made it to our new home and were welcomed with 98 degree weather with 30 mph winds. We are happy to be here and are finally settled in and no longer are living out of boxes. Grandma Barbie made the trip from Florida to Corpus Christi with us, what a big help. Grandpa Marv joined us in Corpus and helped get us moved in. Grandpa Jack and Grandma Sue came to visit the day Marv and Barb left. The girls have been loving it and so have we. Thanks to Jack and Sue we were moved in and out of all the boxes within four days...they are working machines. The new house is wonderful. We live in a one story house about 15 minutes from base and Brecken has loved running around in it. Perfect size for us for this time in our lives. It has a small fenced in back yard which all of us love, especially Brecken.
John has officially checked into the base and will class up on July 2nd. He has to report in each day and has watch about once a week. It has been nice to have some time together as a family before his days get long. It is also nice that he is only gone a couple hours a day to help ease me into being alone with the girls...I have not done this yet with all the company we have been having. It is a joy...I stay very busy, but it is complete joy! John is the only E6 pilot in his class, but will be flying the same training aircraft as the other P3 pilots. He will be flying a T-44C...he is very excited about getting back to flying, but will have three weeks of ground school before he gets back in the air again. John got a new set of clubs from the girls for Father's Day so I am sure that he will be spending some days out on the course if he can stand the heat.
I am doing wonderfully. I am feeling great and the recovery went very well. I have so enjoyed spending some time alone with the girls the last couple of days. It seems life cannot get any better, but it continually does. The three of us stay busy during the day between going for walks, feeding times, and sleeping times, and of course playtime...our days seem to fly by. The three of us will be heading to Iowa on the 10th of July to spend some time with our family and introduce Baylen to the clans. John's sister Katie will be getting married on the 18th, which we are looking forward to. John will join us for the weekend since he can only get a couple days off because of his training schedule. Grandma Barbie will be flying down on the 9th to help us with the travels home...wow it will definately be an adventure. Making memories is what I like to call it!!
Brecken just turned a year and a half...wow how time flies. She is getting to be such an independent girl and is so funny to be around. She is beginning to talk a little more and now says "amen," "sis" and "thank you." She also said Grandma twice when my mom was out here. She is loving her new sister and is getting more curious about her. Baylen gets lots of kisses each day and Brecken has even held her twice...what a sight that is. Brecken spends part of every day outside in the backyard playing with her sand table and swimming in her pool. She has got a great little tan already this summer. She loves going for walks with me at night and finds joy in everything she see outside...what a great quality that is! She loves to dance and even did a somersaut the other day. What a joy it is to watch her grow!
Baylen just turned one month. She is a wonderful little girl. She is a big sleeper and a big eater...two things every mother loves. She wakes up about once a night to feed and then in the early morning again. She is so strong and has been holding her head up since the second day she was born. She is such a long girl and she is growing out of most of the clothes that Brecken wore at two or three months...ha. Baylen also loves being outside. We have a covered patio and she loves to sit in her bouncer while her sister plays. I think she loves the humidity...that makes one of us! She was an unbelievable traveler from Florida to here and she slept most of the way. John would phone and see how the girls were doing I would joke and say "Brecken is ready to get out of the car and Baylen doesn't know we left Pensacola." She is an amazing addition to our family and it is hard to imagine our lives without her...YHWH is good! That pretty much sums up what has been going on with us. Can't wait to see some of you in a couple weeks!

Grandma Sue bought Brecken a new pool for the backyard...needless to say she has been swimming for almost a week straight. I sure will have big shoes to fill when they leave!
Everytime after Brecken gets in from playing in her pool she gets a bath I would have to say she thinks getting clean is as fun as getting dirty.
Brecken loves playing in the rock bed outside of our front door...she even leave one or two in the neighbors yard occasionally.
Here is a picture of the T-44C that John will be doing his training in here at CCNAS.Hold on Tight Baylen!
Brecken so enjoys her sister...and we enjoy watching them together.
Lov'en the Texas Heat!
Brecken loves playing outside and just discovered the wonders of "the hose."
